What does my student email look like?

Your university gives you a student email when you enrol. It is different from your personal email and follows a specific format. Below is every Australian university currently on MidwithMe, with the real email formats students actually receive.

Find your university below.

Most Australian universities issue student emails in one of two formats. Either a student ID (numbers or letters and numbers) or a name-based address (firstname.lastname). Which one you have depends on when you enrolled.

If your university shows two formats below, check your university portal or welcome email to confirm which one is yours. Both are valid and will work for verification.

Note. The examples shown use placeholder numbers and names. Your actual student ID, username, or name-based address will be different. Log into your student portal and copy your real email exactly.

02 / Common mistakes

The most common mistakes.

Most verification failures come down to one of these:

  1. Wrong domain. La Trobe is students.latrobe.edu.au, not students.ltu.edu.au. UQ is student.uq.edu.au, not uq.edu.au. One missing word breaks the whole address.
  2. Thinking your format is wrong because it doesn't match an example. Most universities have two valid email formats. If yours looks different from one example, check the other format for your uni. Both are accepted.
  3. Using a personal email. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook addresses won't verify. You need the one your university issued you.

How to find your student email.

Log into your university student portal (the same place you check your timetable or grades). Your student email is listed in your account or profile settings. Copy it exactly, including every letter, number, and dot, then paste it into MidwithMe.
