General Questions

Who are the people behind MidwithMe®?

We’re Juanita and Nick Hardy – a mother-and-son team on a mission to change the future of pregnancy support.

MidwithMe helps mums-to-be and student midwives connect safely and meaningfully for their Continuity of Care Experience (CoCE).

For mums, it offers a trusted way to find consistent, compassionate support throughout pregnancy.
For students, it provides an easier, more professional path to build the required continuity experiences without the stress of cold outreach or social-media recruitment.

Our goal is to make pregnancy feel more supported and less isolating while giving student midwives the opportunity to learn through genuine relationships. Every feature, from the personalised search and chat to the shared dashboard, weekly birth checklist, and resource section, is designed to make care feel continuous, connected, and human.

What makes MidwithMe® so special?

MidwithMe® is the world’s only adaptive continuity-of-care platform built for both mums and students.
Unlike traditional pairing systems that can feel slow, competitive, or impersonal, we put choice, connection, and care at the centre.

We blend clinical experience with thoughtful design:

  1. Juanita brings over 30 years of healthcare and education expertise, having supported thousands of families and mentored more than 30,000 clinicians.
  2. Nick brings design and innovation experience from global companies such as Boeing and Milwaukee Tools, combining technology with empathy to build solutions that genuinely help people.
Together, we’ve created a platform empowering women to feel supported, and helping midwives focus on what truly matters: caring.

In a system where only 1 in 10 Australian women currently access continuity of care, MidwithMe® exists to change that, one connection at a time.

Juanita and Nick’s Story

MidwithMe® was founded by a mum-and-son duo, Juanita and Nick Hardy, with one powerful mission: to ensure every woman has access to a connected, continuous pregnancy support system.

Juanita brings over 30 years of clinical experience, having supported thousands of families and mentored tens of thousands of healthcare professionals.

Nick brings expertise in design, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Together, they set out to solve the fragmented, hospital-centric maternal support system that leaves too many women without the continuity of care they deserve.

What began as an idea on their family balcony has now earned the trust of healthcare professionals, students, and families nationwide, empowering women to plan, learn, and connect with a personalised support team, while enabling midwives, doulas, and other professionals to focus on what they do best: caring.

Because every woman deserves a support network that feels familiar, ongoing, personal, and built around her.

And together, with you, we’re building a future where she has one.

FAQs for Midwifery Students

For Midwifery Students

How do I get started as a student midwife?

Visit app.midwithme.com.au/register and select Student Midwife.

Complete your profile with details like your university, hospital restrictions, travel distance, and a short bio.

Once your profile is live, mums-to-be can find and contact you to begin a potential CoCE.

Do I need to pay to use MidwithMe®?

No. MidwithMe is completely free for students.

Can I use MidwithMe® while on placement?

Yes. Simply list your placement hospitals in your profile under “Hospital Restrictions.”

This helps mums who are birthing at those hospitals find you first.

What are the benefits for student midwives?

  1. Build meaningful Continuity of Care relationships.
  2. Gain real-world experience in antenatal, labour, and postnatal care.
  3. Grow your confidence and communication skills in a supported environment.
  4. Stay organised through your dashboard, which tracks pairings and tasks.
  5. Access a resource section with helpful study and wellbeing tools, as well as brand partner discounts.

How many mums can I connect with?

You can chat with and pair with as many mums as you’d like at any given time. There is no set limit.

That said, it’s important to stay mindful of your workload and each mum’s due date. Remember, due dates are only an estimate, and births can happen earlier or later than expected.

Try to space out your pairings so you have the time, energy, and focus to support each mum properly and meet your Continuity of Care (CoCE) requirements.

It’s completely up to you how many mums you take on, just make sure you’re setting yourself up for a positive, sustainable experience for both you and the women you support.

What if I need to unpair from a mum?

If something changes, you can unpair within the app. We encourage you to communicate clearly and respectfully before doing so.

How can I contact MidwithMe® if I need help?

If you need support, email connect@midwithme.com.au.
We’re always here to help.

FAQs for Mums-to-be

For Pregnant Women

How do I get started?

Go to app.midwithme.com.au/register and select Mum-to-be.

Create your profile with a few details about you, your pregnancy, and your hospital or birth location.

Once complete, you remain hidden and can explore student midwife profiles privately, based on best match, and send chat requests to anyone who feels like a good fit.

What is the Continuity of Care Experience (CoCE)?

The CoCE is a special program where student midwives follow a mum’s pregnancy journey from early pregnancy through to birth and postpartum, under supervision.

It’s a chance for you to receive ongoing support while helping a student learn through real experience.

What are the benefits for mums-to-be?

  1. Consistent support from a caring student midwife throughout your pregnancy.
  2. An additional support and care option for your existing birth team, not a replacement.
  3. A friendly, familiar face during appointments, birth, and postnatal care.
  4. The chance to share your story and make a real difference in someone’s training.
  5. Access to tools that help you stay organised, including your personal dashboard and weekly birth checklist.
  6. Extra resources, guides, and brand partner discounts inside your dashboard to support your journey.

When is the best time to join?

The earlier the better – ideally between pregnancy confirmation and 28 weeks.

This gives you time to find your student and build a supportive relationship.

You can still join up to 34 weeks and participate successfully. Whilst, any later is possible, it is not recommended.

Can I withdraw if I change my mind?

Yes. You can unpair from your student any time in the app and continue using all other features freely.

Can I use MidwithMe® if I’m planning a home birth?

Yes. You can select “home birth” when creating your profile.

Some universities have specific policies about home births, so your student can confirm this with you.

Is there a limit to how many students I can talk to?

You can chat with multiple students to find your best fit, but you can only pair with one student for your CoCE.

Once paired, that student becomes your dedicated support for the rest of your journey.

Can I change my student halfway through?

Yes. During the Continuity of Care (CoCE) program, you can change your Student Midwife at any time if things aren’t the right fit.

You’re also free to withdraw from the program entirely if you choose to.

If you do decide to change students, we recommend having an open chat first and ensuring the new student has enough time to support you properly and complete their university requirements.

Our goal is always to make sure both you and your student feel comfortable, supported, and confident throughout your journey.

What are the requirements of the Continuity of Care (CoCE) program for students?

Once you’ve paired with a Student Midwife, you’ll be asked to consider offering opportunities for them to accompany you through key stages of your pregnancy journey. These typically include:

  1. Antenatal Visits: Attending at least four appointments with you.
  2. Labour and Birth: Supporting you during labour and birth (if you’re comfortable).
  3. Postnatal Visits: Completing at least two follow-up visits after your baby is born.

These requirements may vary slightly between universities. Once your student has completed their required visits, your professional relationship concludes.

What if I only see students who are far away?

The app prioritises students who have your hospital listed as a placement restriction first.

You can still connect with other students nearby further down the list – they’re absolutely eligible to support you.

How can I contact MidwithMe® if I need help?

If you need support, email connect@midwithme.com.au.
We’re always here to help.
