Continuity of Care Experiences (CoCEs) offer Mums-to-be the unique opportunity to voluntarily participate in a program that pairs them with a student midwife throughout their pregnancy journey. This relationship between Student Midwife and Mum-to-be helps to develop trust and familiarity and underpins the provision of women-centred care and support throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postpartum period.
The Student Midwife will learn alongside the Mums-to-be, providing midwifery care whilst supervised by experienced midwives. As their knowledge and skills grow, they will become more involved in the care process, ensuring the safety and well-being of the Mums-to-be. By participating in a CoCE, Mums-to-be not only receive exceptional personalised care but also contribute to the future of midwifery. They are helping to train the next generation of compassionate and skilled midwives who will provide care and support to women for years to come.
